How to use ClearPaint3d
1
🖌 Magic Brush — paint your model
Load your 3MF or STL file and select a color from the palette. The Magic Brush paints entire surface regions at once using a smart flood-fill algorithm — no need to trace edges manually.
Tolerance
Controls how aggressively the brush spreads across adjacent faces. Low values = precise edges. High values = larger regions painted in one click.
Brush Size
Sets the radius of the selection area on the mesh. Larger brushes are great for broad fills; smaller brushes give fine detail control.
Angle Threshold
Limits spreading to faces whose normals differ by less than this angle. Useful for painting only flat surfaces or only curved ones.
Color Target
Restrict filling to faces that already have a specific color. Combine with Tolerance to repaint only one region without touching the rest.
2
🔧 Gap Filler — fix unpainted faces automatically
After brushing, small gaps or isolated faces may remain uncolored. Gap Filler scans the entire mesh and automatically assigns each unpainted face the color of its nearest painted neighbor — no manual touch-up needed. Run it any time with a single click.
3
✨ Smooth Edges — clean the color boundaries
Color transitions between regions can look jagged at the triangle level. Smooth Edges softens those boundaries by blending the colors of border faces with their neighbors, producing cleaner, more natural-looking transitions — especially visible after slicing.
4
📦 Export & import in your slicer
When you're happy with the result, export your model as a 3MF file (OrcaSlicer or Bambu Studio format). The file embeds all color assignments directly — no extra steps required.
⚠️
Important — drag the file directly into the slicer
To load the colors correctly, you must drag the exported 3MF file directly into the OrcaSlicer or Bambu Studio window. Do not use File → Open or double-click the file — doing so will import the geometry only and the colors will not be loaded. Drag & drop is the only method that triggers the full multi-material import.
